I've decided on 215 45 17' on my Monte. I know they will knock speedo out a bit but I use waze for speedo anyway. Looking at Avon ZV7 any opinions or alternatives?

Thanks

Pretty sure that's the same size as I used to have on my MX5 and found the Kumho PS71 excellent.

@yatesy

That size might well have the speedo nearer being accurate and not over reading as it will be doing now. You will be able to confirm that with Waze when you have them fitted.

I'll report back if that is the case.

After some deliberation I've ordered Yokohama AE50 bluearth

Great in Summer or all seasons if warm and dry, not that much good the other seasons if there is rain, cold or snow.

I have read the reviews and i know that say the opposite.

I was about to vouch for the Avons, i had 215/45 R16 Avon ZV7s on before i changed to 17inch alloys, they are really quiet, they smooth out rough road surfaces really nicely (they are easily the most comfortable tyres i've driven on), and also provide a surprising amount of grip.

From a similarly priced pair of Davantis, a corner which was sketchy at 70 in the dry, was doable at 75mph in the wet with the Avons, I was so surprised by the grip and complete lack of understeer, that I almost steered too tight into the hedge on the inside of the corner! The Davantis understeered quite badly.
