Karoq 190 TDI remap

Featured Replies

Anyone done it....?  Every time I drive my wife's SE L 190 TDI, I'm impressed by how well it goes.  Then I start thinking how much better it would go with a remap. Having had one 1.9 TDI and two 2.0 TDI's remapped to date, I've a pretty fair idea.  However, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who's had it done, what kind of BHP and torque figures did you get, how does it feel and who remapped it for you....?   TIA

This website should give you an idea of what car engines will remap to.

It looks like the Skoda Karoq 190HP 400Nm @ 1,900rpm will remap to 220HP 450Nm @1,900 rpm.

However, I wouldn't use that company as they are far too expensive.

Thanks guys.  I'm actually fairly well versed in the remapping scene.  Root - I know the guys at Star pretty well.  I had my old MK4 Golf remapped by Jim Curley there in 2003 and I've used them on an off for servicing and repairs ever since.

More recently, I had my Mk5 Golf and my Yeti remapped by the Scottish agent for Angel Tuning, Paul Winston and I've been very pleased with his service. Darkside Developments tell me they can get 240 bhp from my Yeti and that's very tempting and expensive.

I'm really looking for feedback from anyone who's had it done to their Karoq.

Done it to 150HP 2LTDI on Karoq with manual gear box. Car is flying now! Really impressed. But when  remap your 190 , do not forget to remap your DSG  as clutches will burn if you not increase pushing power between the disks

Mine one is now 195-200hp and well over 400 torque.   190 can be easely chipped to 215HP , BUT main thing is low rpm torque - this is what making driving pleasant.

It may depend on the market. I see that Shahoff is in Eire.  To return to the original theme of my thread, the 190 TDI is only available with the DSG transmission, here in Britain.

I mean 190hp is not exist on manual.

@Shahoff I've been thinking for awhile to remap my O3 2.0TDI 150hp to around 185/190hp and 400nm by Revo.

What was questionable for me ... looking at the graphics I could see power and torque come later in the rev range compared to stock. And actually bellow 2000 rpm remap has less torque available than the stock.

What is your observation?

On my tune torque start climbing earlier then stock  for sure ,  but not as kicky as my old 1.9TDI octavia , where 245 wheels did polish tarmac even at dry :) (but I had to change clutch to  singlemass after few thousand KM :) )

I am waiting maybe beginning of the July to go to my tuner and do dyno test and final tune of the mapping. I will be able to present graphs probably from dyno run.
