Hi ive just bought a 2011 monte carlo and took the rear reg number off to change my plate over and noticed rust starting, its near the reg plate light and all around where the plate screws on.

I know there have been a few people mentioning rust on the tailgate, etc and I am sure Skoda have a ten year anti-perforation warranty so I would shift-nifty-like, to my local dealer and check they will cover it. It clearly looks like it has been there a while.

Im down there at 330 mate, ive got full service history but the paint schedule hasnt been done since 2015, bet they slide out if it by this

As Skoda UK well know as do Skoda Dealership employees.

There is nothing in the Paint & Corrosion warranty T&C's about an Annual or Biannual Paint / Body check.

There was when there were Service Books and the pages after the Annual Service Page.  They went online.

Skoda Main Dealer Servicing shows 'Body & Glass inspections'  as part of the service.

So Skoda UK know the service history, know which dealers did it and will know where employees never completed a inspection and report.

But as i say,  the Warranty T&C's says nothing about inspections being carried out at Dealerships periodically.   Loads of threads on that.

After spending 20 mins at the dealer he measured the paint and took snaps of the car and stamped up service history. He said its very very hard to get them to honour stuff anymore but it looking like the rubber gasket between the reg plate light has had trapped moisture causing it to rot from the inside.

His, my case has to go to skoda uk but also might have to be stripped down for a better look.

He said it would probably be a full new boot lid.
