Mk3 Octavia Elegance

Featured Replies

Hi all,

***warning newbie about to make a tit of himself ***

Just purchased a 2014 2.0 TDI Elegance Estate to replace my trusted Mk2 Octavia 1.9TDI........the new car is in really good nick but wouldn't mind making some minor improvements:

The silver trim on the driver side door is heavily scratched, this is the horizontal panel that's by the handle. Can I replace just that part or is it a whole new door panel?

I'd like to retrofit adapted cruise control as a project, appreciate this is going to be expensive - has anyone done this successfully?

Thanks all in advance,

J

ACC is not a fun job, you will need a new ABS pump, new rear ABS sensors, stalks, crash bar, radar and wiring and then ODIS-E for CP removal. Not worth the pain.

You can just replace the trim but you will have to cut it and re glue. If you want some vRS carbon trim, drop me a PM, have the set for the doors in nice condition 😊

Love it :D

Depends where you source the trim from but if you keep your eye out, you may be able to pick up a whole door panel at a breakers yard cheaper than you can buy just the trim.

Before I purchased my 2016 SE i saw another Elegance of that year with simliar interior trim damage and on the back doors too. Looked awful to be honest. Seems an odd bit of trim to get so scratched. Hope mine does not look like that after a few years.

Could it be covered in some clear vinyl wrap possibly?
