Incorrectly coded battery

Featured Replies

I purchased OBDeleven and ran a scan on my car. It was more to see a more detailed view of my glow plug fault that keeps oncoming back despite fitting new plugs and glow plug relay.

On the scan it showed a fault in each driver and passenger door. A fault on the can gateway of high voltage. After doing a few adaption changes to car I realised that the battery was coded as 68ah where as it is actually a 70ah battery. I recoded the battery and since then all the electrical faults have disappeared. Amazing what a wrongly coded battery can do to the electrics and the car. Plus so far the glownplig fault has not returned. But early days on that one though I might be speaking too soon.

Can't see how that coding change could possibly have changed anything, TBH.  Hope your faults stay away though. :)

I forgot to mention it was not coded as an AGM battery.

That's more important to get correct than the difference between 68 and 70AH.

Been doing some coding as well. Changed the throttle to linear and my engine code to audi. Also altered the starting vibration reduction. I saw that most deactivated it but I put it from strong to normal. The torque limiter in 1st and 2nd gear was already deactivated as standard. The car feels loads more positive on starting and acceleration. It is amazing what a few minutes of coding can do to improve the car.

Where did you find code for torque limiter on 1st and 2nd?

It was on the adaption list on obdeleven. I went to the brake control unit and it was in there.Screenshot_20200620-211055_OBDeleven.thumb.jpg.0f4f33991aebf4f3d04ce466314e1816.jpg
