Fuel Enrichment Valve Importance

Featured Replies

hi all felicia members i have a little question i have felicia 97 1.3 Carburetor 43kw engine and have some issues first issue the acceleration is acceptable until it reach 100 km/h after that become a duck 😢

second the top speed reach maximum 125 to 130 km/h 😩

i read about pierburg 2e3 jikov version  and its components and compared with my carburetor so i found one of the mechanism of enrichment valve is  clogged as the figure with red dot

my question is it worth it to remove carburetor and try fix this at  Turning workshop or replace the lower part of carburetor  or will not make effect

Thanks

At a predetermined opening of the throttle valve angle, the vacuum in the intake manifold decreases to such an extent that spring opens the enrichment valve. Because of this, additional fuel from the float chamber can be fed directly into the primary system (1st stage) via channels.

In other words, the fuel enrichment valve helps with more fuel for the 1st stage of the carburetor.

The 2nd stage of the carburetor helps developing maximum power/speed. If something prevents 2nd stage opening fully, then you can't achieve maximum power.

thank you for quick reply

but my question if the mechanism of enrichment valve is closed could effect the performance at all

the second question how could i know that 2nd stage in carburetor works fine as i reach max speed near 130 km/h

I don't use it for the last 5 years. Better mileage. Top speed 150 km/h.

Only by removing the carburetor, cleaning it and recalibrate it.

i heard about bike carbs but not know much technical information about installing it

and what about fuel consumption after installing it

you are going to love them 38mm pwk properly jetted will be a ok
fuel consumption is going to slightly increase +10% but also power and torque as well as better engine response

does it need to change mechanical fuel pump and replace with electric pump with regulator

what are maximum speed you reach after doing this modification

i will need to check proper pressure for the carbs you most likely need a pressure regulator and and adaptior for the intake
3 psi would suffice for some pwks
