Hi there I need to change timing belt/water pump and need to find out which antifreeze is in car. Not sure if its pink or light red? I got the car recently and don't know what is in it. Am I correct in thinking that any  VW G-12/TL774D spec is ok or would I be better to change it rather than top it up? Not sure if pink and red are compatible?

G12/ G13 sometimes has a plus on the end. it’s red out of the bottle and looks pink diluted. 

Replaced the radiator in mine a while back.

Many thanks for the replies. I reckon will drain it flush the system  and replace with new. I wondered if it was red that had been topped up with water, It looks very pale pink. Not sure when it was changed last so better to be safe than sorry. Don't want to add anything that isnt compatible with whats already in there

That is the best plan and replace with G13 or its aftermarket supplied equivalent, Commo for one I think has a "which VW Group version" selector.
