Managed to find the correct bolt part numbers. Many thanks to the forum but they are internal splined. Does anyone know what fits. Is it Torx or spline drive or soemthing else specific to Skoda ?. I Haven't come across this type before as fairly new to working on Skoda so will have to order a suitable set to do the work on the car. Sorry if this is a simple question but don't want to take the car apart and get stuck without the correct tools as I also need it daily.

12 point XZN triple square spline bits are the tool you're after.

Many thanks, Had a look online. Plenty spline sets but not many XZN. I take it theres a difference. The only makes I have found that I have heard of are a clarke set cht144 and a draper set iss8 for larger than m12 . Not sure what the quality is like but I reckon I wont be using them all the time.

True spline drive has 60-degree corners, XZN has 90-degree. Terms are often mixed up and confused/misused though.

There are sets on the bay from cheap, recommend you get a 1/2" drive set that includes M6, M8, M10, M12 and M14.

 

Try locally if needed urgently, I did and found a previously unknown tool outlet hiding in an industrial estate and came away with a reasonably priced Kennedy set.

Not a joking matter to be honest.

My mum had to go into a care home yesterday for similar reasons so it's 'too soon'; but you weren't to know.

 

Mainly just that I have a lot of car-related photos and images and I don't always remember where they came from. This one is from at least a couple of years ago, maybe more.
