Cornering fog lights. code with obd11?

Featured Replies

Still waiting for my OBD11 Pro to arrive but in the meantime have had a look around at what can be done. I noted that fog lights can be coded to act as cornering lights. I did have a Passat in 2008 that had this and found it useful on occasions so am wondering if I can get the same on my Octy. I had a look at the fogs and they seem to be separate reflectors within the housing which made me think it may be possible. My car is the Elegance version that has a lot of options already so perhaps it is possible to code them in.?

Thanks for any information.

You can use the app function to code it for you on obd11.

I used the app on the app. Worked perfectly and a nice upgrade. The lights come on when cornering at speeds up to 25mph, even though the app calls it static cornering lights

Don't forget to take a backup of the coding before you use the app as they don't tell you what is being changed.  Reverting would be difficult otherwise if you have issues.

It's called that since the lights are static (they don't move).

There is another function called cornering lights where it's the actual headlight beams that move side to side.

Thanks guys.

Now just waiting on the postman.........

Word of caution, the apps on OBDeleven although great can mess things up depending on variant of car etc etc plenty of posts on here of people that have had issues!!

If you have the pro pack then the advice would be to use the long coding option using the sticky threads at the top of this page.

And always, always make a backup before any changes.

Enjoy, theres loads you can do.

Indeed. Someone on here recently made an arse of coding something using apps.

So right, making sure it could back up first is why I went for the PRO version.

Apologies, I didn't see it had posted twice.

Anyway, enjoy having a play with it. Amazing what you can do with the car.
