Kodiaq options

Featured Replies

Has anyone looked into the multiple options in Kodiaq and what they thought was the best engine set up? ended up going for the 2.0 TSI 132kw and love it! Felt the Kodiaq RS for the money wasn't worth it as mine had just as much features as the RS.

Welcome.

What is the trim level called with the car you re getting?

In the UK the 2.0 TSI engine is 190ps / 140 kW not 180ps / 132kW.

I have the 'Style" model which is full leather, adaptive cruise control, leather wrapped sports steering wheel etc. Really nice car we have a lot of V8s over here and I discovered it has launch control and I tell you to 50km an hour I beat v8s all day long. Not sure why Australasia is limited 132kw, maybe emissions?

Likely the lack of requirement to meet the WLTP / RDE1 & 2 in Australia compared to those in Europe, so no need to compensate for fitting GPF's by making the engine more powerful to suit having the certification tests.

Many would like a 1.4TSI and 8 speed auto in Europe compared to the 1.5TSI and 7 speed DQ200 DSG.

140kW TSI Kodiaq = petrol particulate filter which Skoda Australia don't want to deal with for any volume seller i.e. Kodiaq. Same reason as to why the Aussie Karoq has a 1.4 TSI + torque converter instead of the 1.5 TSI + DSG that Europe and NZ currently get.

Horse for courses, some say the 1.4 / 1.5 150PS TSI isn't suitable for a car the size of the Kodiaq.

Yet the same engine pulls the car, me, my family, the contents of the boot, a full roof box and a 1.5 ton caravan with absolute ease.
