Paint Code from VIN

Featured Replies

Hi guys, really simple one, but I’m in need of a paint code ASAP and I’ve not got the car here, just the VIN

I’ve put it into several decoders, but none have given the paint code. If you can help me, please do by sending me a private message and I’ll send you the VIN

OR... if you know how I can do it, please let me know, (without having the car to hand.

thanks again

Thanks for trying  @mac11irl

still no no luck yet guys... I’ll call Skoda tomorrow and get a code from them :D

The VIN does not hold information as to the paint code. I believe the paint code forms part of the Vehicle Data Sticker, one of which is usually found affixed into the 2nd inside back page of the Owners Manual and another stuck in the vehicle luggage compartment.

As far as I’m aware, the VIN holds ALL of the information about a vehicle.

I believe users of VAGCOM, VCDS, ODIS can put the VIN into their software and it’ll bring up all of the information on that vehicle.

You are are correct that there are usually stickers in both the spare wheel well and the manufacturers handbook/service book, but I don’t have the car here yet.

long story short, I’ve bought a car, it needs a door, but I’m trying to source a door before I go and collect the car, so that I could possibly collect the door (in colour if at all possible) on my way to collect the car

@20vKarlos  Does the cars seller not have access to the car to go look at the Build Sticker in the boot to get the Paint Code for you?

You/I can find out via erWin (not poss via VCDS etc. to the best of my knowledge). PM me to discuss.

You could do it yourself if you register etc and pay 7 Euros plus tax for an hour's access. "Car data" is what you look for/download. Go in via the 'vehicle-specific data' tab here https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do
