Bluetooth update

Featured Replies

Is there a way to update Bluetooth, I have just bought a brand new phone a Armor x5,  (from aliexpress), and its come with Android 10 , phone rang yesterday while driving could not answer it, even though the phone signal was showing full, yet with my galaxy s8 it answers every time, I had this problem using  HTC phones when I 1st got the car , found out the best is android 9 or above for the phones to work,

I wonder if its just the unit in the glove box that's causing the problem, or the actual head unit, , don't know what part the Bluetooth actually is in .

The unit in the glove box is the headunit and also contains the bluetooth module. The bit in the dashboard is just a touchscreen :)

There are occationally updates for the headunit which can contain BT updates but I'm not sure if it'll help.

Add a picture showing your headunit details to the following thread as Pab seems to have updates for most headunits:

Perhaps look in the phone settings - can you make it use an older version of the Bluetooth protocols?

I do this with mine but only for the media playback controls (AVRCP version).

Yes, you can revert to older bluetooth versions.  However, if you have Android, you need to active developer mode.  Go into Settings -> About Phone-> software.  Find out where it states the Build Number - and click on it 10 times.  This activates developer mode.

Now go back one step and go Settings -> Developer Mode.  Scroll down until you reach Bluetooth AVRCP version.  Most devices will be fine with AVCRP Version 1.4.  If that is not playing nicely, then try Version 1.3.
