Trivial problem with media player

Featured Replies

Hello mates. Although I named my problem trivial but it is much annoying either. Look, Now and then I listen to podcasts recorded on the Sd card. I drive Octavia 2019 y.of man. When I turn off the media player it doesn’t keep the point of the media track which I haven’t finished to listen to. So that when I turn it on again, the playing continues from 0:00. I have to remember the time on which I left. Previously I had octavia 2014 with Bolero and there wasn’t such an issue. The player continued the track right from the very place I had turned it off before. Much better. So if anyone has an idea how to make my player keep in memory the point of interruption?

Be interesting to see if you find a solution to this as mine will sometimes start where it finished, but most often start in the first track alphabetically on the card.

Very frustrating now.

Exactly the same! Recently I noticed that it starts over from the beginning most of the time though not always. Sometimes I emphasize, sometimes, it continues as I wish

It would do that if it was detecting that the card had been removed/reinserted.

Are you using a MicroSD card in an adaptor? I'm sure I read that some people had experienced issues using such cards where occasionally it would restart playing from the first track etc.

Do you have a full size SD card you could test for a period of time?

Think it’s a full size SD but I’ll have to go check now you’ve asked.

It makes sense. I do exactly use micro SD and adapter.

Well,... I have micro SD and an adapter. Just now I removed it, disassembled, blow air and rub a little bit (don’t know for what purpose, frankly), reassembled and inserted again. Turned on/off the ignition two times with the media player and, holy cow, It continued from the right point, not from 0:00. Full size SD could be a solution

From the very exact reason, for podcasts or audiobooks, it is much more comfortable to use your phone with special application installed, just for this purpose. You can even continue listening to the materials outside of the car. Think about this approach.

It must depend on the adapter and the micro SD card, I've been using a micro SD card and adapter for over 3 years with no problems.

Yup - almost certainly and won't be a blanket issue with a blanket solution.

I've seen MicroSD cards moving around in some adaptors and you do wonder if in a car, with general vibration, that might cause issue for some setup's.

I know that the newer, faster standard cards don't come in full-size flavour, but you don't need rated transfer speeds that high for music.

Gotta be worth a shot if you are having the issue - what with full size 32GB cards costing no more than about £7 - £8.

Well in my case at least it’s not related to microSD as I am using a full size SD card.

To the OP what firmware revision is your MIB running?
