Hi all

As you can see, I own a MK3 Octavia. The bonnet and boot badges are both 90mm. Unlike my old MK2 Octavia, where they were 90mm and 80mm. What I want to do is change both 90mm badges for gloss black ones, but not sure where best to buy them from. By the look of them, they have a slight curve, especially the front one. I also don't know what the positioning pins at the rear look like, until I take the old ones off of course.  Has anyone changed these badges off a MK3 Octavia and where did you get your black ones from? Seen plenty on ebay, but most of them come from China. Not sure whether they have pins on the back, the position of said pins and the build quality either. It would be good if the black badges I buy have no pins at all. Just have to position them accurately myself, as I did with my last Octavia when I changed the badges. I have seen some perfect ones on the Superskoda web site, even ones that match the colour of my car, Quartz Grey, nice. But at 44.99 euros each, they are taking the p--s.   Informed advice needed please.

Got all mine from Superskoda, wait until they have a discount weekend.

Yes I have got some bits from them in the past, but their prices for badges are stupidly high. I guess to spot their discount weekend coming up, they announce it on their site, yes? I really like their colour coded ones too, even better than black. I just find the original badges far too bright, as were the "Skoda" and "Octavia" rear badges, which I have already taken off. It's the VRS badge on the rear that needs changing as well! Too shiny!

They display a discount banner on there site, when it's active.

Changed all my badges front and back.

I just ordered one from AliExpress, €8.25 delivered, choice of colours and finishes and the pictures show the locating peg positions, I think they are only on the 80mm badges.

I did look on there the other day but could not find what I want. Have to have another look in case I missed them. As for the peg positions, at this moment I don't know what position they are meant to be in.

Have a good look, I dont think the 90mm one that I ordered has any pegs, I may be wrong.

 

I will just cut them off if need be.

I looked on the AliExpress site again and found the badges I am after. Trouble is, you have to register as a member first before you can buy! I may easily be wrong of course, but I don't really want a Chinese company to have to many of my details. Why can't you  just order and pay for what you want without having to sign up to their web site?

Wouldn’t worry about someone having details. I’m sure many companies have it already, AliExpress is a very large company and has been operating for many many years.
