Retro-Fit FlatBlade Wipers!!!!!

Featured Replies

Is there nothing stamped on them?

For example Bosch wipers turn up in all sort of boxes, most of the Quantum VAG wipers are Bosch made.

I notice the place selling them also sells Bosch Aero Twin floppy blades too.

The empty boxes are still in my car now, with the oem bosch blades in them. I'll take a good look at them tomorrow.

i can confirm theres no obvious big name manufacturer on the wiper boxes , it just says "classic fusion wipers "? , tried bending the o/s blade jason , but i don't hold out much hope of it wiping properly , the difference between these blades and say bosch aero blades is that the bosch blade seem to 'flop' onto the screen where as these classic fusion ones seem to rely on the springyness of the steel inserts which IMHO is too stiff on my o/s blade

getting sent a 22" blade sent out tomorrow instead of standard fabia 21" blade , i told them i knew 2 other people that had the same problem with their 21" blades so sent me the slightly longer blade , should fit i hope

Well, mines going OK still. My only concern is the clip strength isn't all that good, and its very easy to pull them out and off the wiper arm.... Hoping they don't fall off while at great velocity.

Might try bending the wiper arm end a littlebit with a pair of pliers. Aside from that, they wipe very well in the rain and look more stylish than oem. I'm still retaining my original blades just in case though.

My 21" Fusion blade is getting worse in terms of unswept area, so I may have to resort to a 22" blade.

Proper Bosch Aerotwins for the RHD Fabia may not be too far away if I'm to believe an email I got from their customer services today. Will keep folks posted.

I bought a pair a week or so ago (21 and 19 inch)....initial problem with the driver's wiper missing out a section of the windscreen, but after a few days, and a little bending from me, it settled well, and they work a treat. I haven't noticed the clips not fitting properly. When fitting them, I did give them a good push on until they "clicked". Pretty pleased with them.

just an update , received a 22" fusion blade to exchange for the faulty 21" blade , works ok , clears without leaving a trail across screen , so i recommend if you are buying these blades to get a 19" and 22" , there does seem to be problem with the 21" , there is no problem with a longer length blade , its only 0.5 inch at either end

I have the Renault ones and think they are superb. However, looking at the pics on this thread, the spoiler seems to be the wrong way on the fusion ones :S Shouldn't the flat part of the blade be at the top rather than the bottom???

Hmmm, got a slight problem with my 21" ;)

It doesn't seem to want to stay in the wiper arm. Sure I can pack it out but while it was on intermittent today, I could see daylight appearing between the blade fitting and the 180 bend in the end of the arm. And it kept getting bigger. In the end I stopped using my wipers and risked it until I could stop and shove it in...... and put the wiper blade back right.

Sorry, in a smutty mood this afternoon.

I fitted some oem Golf IV arms and blades from VAGparts. They are spot on and look superb . So easy to fit the blades to the arms.

I did consider the retrofit ones but I wasn't impressed by the problems I was hearing.

Definately worth the little extra to get the oem ones I reckon. :) Should be the same for the Furby yes?

Sorry' date=' in a smutty mood this afternoon.[/quote']

shouldn't that be sooty mood :D i'd try a 22" blade jason , works spot on  just email the bloke at randstad and he'll change it for you , he knows there is a problem with the 21" blades .

Yeah, they look upside down compared to the OEM ones that came with my Octy

That's probably because they're LHD ones. I did post a warning about this in a thread somewhere.;)

i thought that warning was in relation to the bosch blades on that german VRS , which of course were left hand drive fitment , these fusion blades are not handed , they will fit either way due to the clip fitting , i'm going to check mine later to see which way round they are on , and adjust as necessary

My warning was indeed about Bosch Aero wipers, but as I understand it all floppy aero wipers currently on sale (excluding OE fit ones obviously) are LHD still.:thumbdwn: Hopefully I'm wrong now and some manufacturers have got their thumbs out of their butts. After all you would think the RHD UK market would take up a good proportion of the worlds wiper supplies as it never bloody stops raining here!!!!

But if you can change which way round they sit then get a picture of a current model that has them as OE fit and mount them that way so the spoiler effect is correct.

Then it should be 'viola!' RHD floppies!

I believe Bosch UK are about to release RHD versions of the Fabia Aero blades.

A quick question... Are the Scenic blades available from places like Halfrauds or do you have to go to a Renault garage and get them as spare parts?

Ta.
