New owner - lumpy metal frame beneath doors

Featured Replies

Hi all,

We just took delivery of a new Karoq - our first ever Skoda. We're broadly delighted with it, but we've noticed that the metal frame below both sets of doors is really lumpy and warped. I've attached a couple of photos here. The white 'drops' you can see on one side are actually solid. Does anyone know what's going on here? Is it normal?

Cheers!

Wax oil, rust protection. Then sprayed with stone chip?

I'm on my second Karoq. Both Petrol Blue. Both looked like this. It does look untidy and wrong. I find keeping it clean of mud and dust makes it less obvious.. I don't have white strips. Are they reflections?

Had a look at ours today, not as bad as the OP but there are a few 'teardrops' along the seam - doesn't look too obvious as it's quite dirty under there - what I did find was that (in this afternoons 30° heat) I simply touched the teardrops with my finger and they came off / squished, I'm assuming it's just wax?
