Lots of engines are what’s in stock only and can’t be ordered.

Its worth looking around what’s available to avoid the wait.
Decided the car in the showroom whilst there to get my Yeti serviced was more or less what I would order on Wednesday and drove it away on Thursday.
My car could not have been ordered at the moment

I ordered on the 28th July and dealer said to expect late October delivery, Karoq 1.5 petrol. Since then have had order confirmation from Skoda UK, dealer said factory  shuts down for 2 weeks hols at start of August.

26 weeks🙁

12 weeks I was quoted. Sportline 1.5 manual. Delivery middle of October

When did you order?

I ordered on the 4th August

So far it’s 2 at 12 weeks and one at 25 weeks. The 2 at 12 weeks are petrol and manual, maybe the 2 weeks is different?

I ordered my Sportline 2.0TSI with a customised build on 2nd June, and was told handover would be mid-September.

When the MY21 spec was released, I updated my order on the 21st July with changed options.

The order was confirmed by Skoda UK on the 30th July, but no build date announced yet. Given that it takes about three weeks to get a car from the factory to the dealers, I'm now expecting handover at the end of September at the earliest 😞

Should read 25 weeks is different

Just for reference - asked about Sportline 2.0 TSI (190) 4 x 4 DSG with towbar

Just trying to get a feel if the dealer is encouraging me to buy a lesser stock model, 'this week sir' lol

ordered a 1.5 Sportline 2 weeks ago and expected in the last week in october

That's presumably for the changeover to MY21 cars, although as far as I know there are no panel changes so they shouldn't have to update the presses. And the software and other changes shouldn't take much re-engineering on the line I wouldn't have thought. Now OK, normally there would be maintenance work to do as well while the production line is idle... but wouldn't they have got that done when they closed down for Covid-19 back in the spring??

Sure, he's after his sales bonus and not worried about providing the car you want. My sales manager half-halfheartedly offered to see if the car I'd configured on the website was already available, but we both knew that the options I wanted were unlikely to be on a pre-configured car. Heck, none of the cars in the showroom even had the Virtual Cockpit never mind my other 'wants'!

I was told there were no 1.5 SE L with heated screens available in UK, also told the shut down was for annual hols- assume factory normally shuts down for summer hols every year?

I ordered 25th June (Edition with heated screen). Dealer wouldn't be drawn on delivery date, just 'before Christmas'. When i ordered my Yeti I waited 23 weeks.

Did the dealer or Skoda UK update you on expected delivery date

This was a dealer update. I have received an email from Skoda staring that my order has been received - that's all.

I had the order confirmation from Skoda UK on 4th August, nothing since then though. Oh well will have to be patient🙂

My dealer wrote the handover date of the 18th of September on my order form, way back in June, and I've been promised regular updates but had nothing from him. However the Skoda UK email confirming my order says they will keep me up to date with the progress of my car and they'll send me further emails. My present status is 'Order Confirmed' with future mileposts being 'In Production', 'On its way', and 'At Retailers'.

Hi. I have exactly the same email with exactly the same progress.

Let's hope they are as good as their word and keep us in the loop!

What did your dealer say about the current 'offers' - which, if cars are not delivered till October, will no longer be on the table.

I'm buying not leasing, and got an equivalent discount on the price of my new car and a reasonable P/X on my Golf. He also promised to give me more for my Golf if it's P/X valuation has risen when my new car arrives. (I'll believe that when I see it, but at least with lockdown, my mileage has been a lot lower than I'd anticipated this year :)

So my cost to change should be locked in, apart from perhaps a haggle over the changed options, and heated steering wheel now being standard for a MY21 car while I had added it as an option.

Steering wheel NOW being standard not NOT

Thanks. Interesting- I have just been told that a heated steering wheel is now standard on my new Karoq. Dealer seemed to think this was a good deal against not getting the finance offer! 😆

Sorry, typo in my previous post. As you say the heated steering wheel has been added as standard for MY21, whereas I had it as an option for my MY20 order. However the savings are partially swallowed by a big increase in the option price for the heated windscreen (makes me wonder if it'll be a film type rather than wire type??)

Thanks. If I get any further info I will update the forum.
