Sat nav destination storage

Featured Replies

I can enter destinations using postcodes without problems however my satnav stores previous destinations as" Offroad "followed by co-ordinates. This makes it impossible to reselect repeat destiations. How do I get it to store with the postcode I inputted?

you cannot it stores the address or if you use postcode without street name it only stores co-ordinates

I cannot see how you enter postcodes. Can anyone help please. I have a Kamiq

You just touch the symbol at the bottom left of your Nav screen. This opens other options up the left-hand side. Touch the top symbol on the left which opens a section across the top of the page. Enter your required post code there then touch it and you will be asked if you want to start. Only trouble is that it will not store postcodes for future reference, just co-ordinates. Have checked storage problem with local service manager and he confirms this is a failure in the software design. The other thing which can be disconcerting is the pronunciation of street names as you are directed - most are very weird foreign pronounciations bearing little relationship to the way we say them.

Top right there’s an envelope click that

Thanks I'll try that later

Hi. I have just got a new Kamiq and am having same trouble re postcodes. Very frustrating. Anyone solved it? I did manage in a roundabout way to get it in but it said off road and had coordinates and that was what was then listed in previous destinations so unrecognisable if you want to go back there.  Seems ridiculous that I can’t just enter a postcode...I just wondered if a setting was wrong somewhere. Any advice much appreciated thank you.

I've been back to the local agent and had discussion with their Sat Nav expert. After much headscratching plus discussion with others and phone calls out he finally came back and said "Sorry no can do to store previously inputted postcodes."

Wonder if there is the same problem with the sister VW T-ROC?

Thanks Colin.  Seems very strange but maybe we just gotta accept it! 😢🤣

How do you do that?

Hi Stephen. When I go in car I will note down how I managed to get it to take postcode....defo didnt seem straightforward but I did get there! Watch this space later! 😜

Thanks

Hi Stephen...well I give up!! I cannot find how on Earth I ended up with the postcode entered!! It was something to do with click on city or town but can I get it to do it now?! It is driving me mad! YouTube videos show clicking on say city and Pstcd appears bottom left...but not on mine...must be different versions. I will keep watching here and see if anyone solves it. Best regards, Linda ps one thing I did discover was I could click on a star on the off-road coordinates entry and give it a name as a favourite destination which might be useful in future!

Hi all...clicked on the envelope...brings up the box where you put address (but not postcode) but I still didn’t get to off road like I did at some Point! Thankfully I will rarely need to use it so when I do I guess I will just have to put full address in until someone comes up with a solution. Thanks for your help.

click envelope It does not say postcode just write it in at the top. You might be entering on the wrong screen not the map screen you enter on the first screen with the circles and banners go to top left click the balloon with the dot in then on the next screen click the envelope type postcode in the search bar if you have entered a postcode before it shows in a  green bar

Hi again. Followed your instructions and did get to put postcode in so thanks for that...it then gives the "off road" coordinates which it then stores (cant seem to delete all my practices!) ..see pics.... I think that is going to be the only way to do it. I must say I dont find it easy to navigate round compared with my ten year old mazda cps!  Maybe I just need practice.

Thanks for help 👍 I will be back in forum when I have another query!

Hi again. Gonna try deletions tmrw. Many thanks for help. Your list of previous destinations is definitely not same as mine! I’ve not yet tried to put an address in without postcode yet...might try that and see what happens. Trial and error I think!
