P2425 should i be worried?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! Today, p2425 fault code together with a check engine light appeared on my 2011 2.0 CR Octavia, after around 600km highway driving. I am far from home and a bit worried if anything can go bad on my way home or cruising around here during my vacation.

I will try to erase it tomorrow, although i believe it will come back soon?!

thanks in advance if you can gove me some hope :)

That fault code refers to exhaust gas recirculation cooling valve control circuit open. Commonly the PCM (power control module) has detected no voltage on the EGR. It could be a broken oxygen sensor and needs to be checked at a garage who may charge 100-150 Euro's to replace with new part. If not replaced it can damage the car's catalytic converter.
