vRS

Featured Replies

I'm looking for some information. My car (04 Fabia vRS) has the same under tray type thingies (technical term!!!) as the new Octy vRS. You know, the black plastic attatched to the underneath of the car. Theres no problem with them, infact i like them coz they will protect the underneath of the car, but my Skoda dealer says hes never even heard of that type of part for the Fabia!!!! Has anyonne else seen these or is my local dealer a proper dumb ****? Hope this all makes sense:O

What do you need to know?

Just need to know if its a proper fabia accessory or if the previous owner has fabricated it in some way? The only reason i'm asking is coz my local dealer hasnt seen anything like b4, but it looks like a proper factory accessory with the VAG stamps on it:confused: Just wondering if someone else has them on?

I thought they all had the, for noise suppression if nothing else. I know all Octys have them.....

No, every other Fabia hasnt got them, i've asked/phoned around other dealers but they all say the same:confused: I've only ever seen them on the new Octy vRS, very aero dynamic look about them. Not to worry, i think they're great:thumbup: And if i'm the only Furby with them then all the better!!!

All the Fabia's I've seen have a plastic engine undertray (with the exception of my old one which randomly fell off while I was driving;)) It won't protect the engine from much more than dirt, as it's pretty flimsy and thin. There is a metal sump-guard which will offer much more protection but I'm not sure is available for the Fabia. Josh on here arranged to get a purpose built one fabricated though and arranged a group buy not too long ago. Have a search through the group buy forum and you'll hopefully find it....

Yeah i know about the engine under tray, but these ones are the same as the new Octy ones, they run the full legnth of the floor, leaving a gap in the middle for the exhaust:)

:wrthless:

Or at least a pic would make things a lot easier

Sorry, i aint got a clue about how to put pictures on here!!!:o It's exactly the same thing as the new Octy vRS has got. Has anyone on here just now got a new Octy vRS, maybe they can explain it better:) I'm just wanting to know the source of the part, as i've said, all the Skoda dealers i've called have no idea!

All new Fabia vRSes have them, instead of brushed/sprayed-on underseal. Now we are in the tar-spraying season, you'll hear gravel pinging off them on every resurfaced road.

Thanx for that mate:thumbup: How come all the new vRSes i've looked at in the showrooms not got them though? Even the dealers didnt know!!!!

my 04VRS has the plastic under floor protectors fitted like what i think you're talking about , maybe they've been deleted from later spec models , but i don't understand why you're having trouble convicing skoda dealers that they are fitted , the parts department should be able to find them on their computer surely
