Octavia 0211 MPI Tyre Pressure Reset button

Featured Replies

Afternoon,

Newbie here. I have a 2011 Octavia MPI. Periodically the tyre pressure warning light and the engine warning light come on and the car goes into 40mph max mode. I go to the garage and check the tyres and all are OK. A few restarts of the car later, the light goes out, only to return a few days / weeks later. I check my tyres pressures again and all are OK. The manual I have refers to a tyre pressure reset button, which you hold down for a few secs after you have filled the tyres to let the car know that the tyre pressures are good and to let you know if anything changes. I know what this button is supposed to look like as I had a Fabia and I have a Citygo, both of which have the elusive button. The only button I have in the area it should be in is the 'ASR OFF' button. My question is, how on earth do you reset the tyre pressures on this Octavia model if there isn't a reset button?

The tyre pressure system won't cause the engine warning light to come on or restrict the power...

You should get the car scanned with vcds or similar when the warning lights are on to get a better idea of what the problem actually is.

Have you any other time seen the TPMS light lit in your dash, like in a sudden pressure loss or a small hole slow hiss?

If yes it seems that the TPMS system has been previously activated (supposing your ABS pump supports it using the ABS sensors) and this could have been done by using VCDS or similar.

If not button there, then you need to connect VCDS or similar to re-set it, otherwise you need to install the button.

But apart from that as per Langers2k, this light if lit on together with engine then it would suggest diagnose it for targeted details.
