Badges and Grille

Featured Replies

Going to give wrapping the outer chrome surround of my standard grille in gloss black.... has anyone replaced the standard badges with black versions?

prices on super Skoda seem steep for the black badges so any other recommendations for these replacements would be great

thanks Kevin

I have one ready to fit when I have the time, already repainted the grille, cost about €8 delivered from Ali-Express, it has the VAG part number & logo & I think is a genuine part inasmuch as it has come off the same injection mould as many of the parts used for VAG vehicles built in Asia come from the local suppliers.

I have bought roof console spectacle holder storage boxes and the 3 piece moulded battery trays from Ali-Express, they all appear to be OE products and the huge cost of the tooling would not justify making injection moulds for such large or intricate low value pattern parts.

Prices do seem it, but they are actually very decent quality (presumably you mean the gloss black Monte Carlo 'black magic' ones?). They're well-painted in metallic black, with a high quality resin finish.

Going for cheaper options is typically a false economy; or you could try plasti-dipping them yourself but it will be difficult to achieve the same effect.

I literally just bought replacement boot / tailgate badges to finalise matching up all badges minus the grille to Monte Carlo black; Superskoda delivered in 2 days flat!
