Glow plug light flashing after reconnecting battery

Featured Replies

I had my car apart today to replace the clock spring. That all went well and the horn now works. But now the glow plug light is flashing. It wasn’t on before I disconnected the battery and I’m worried I’ve somehow fried something. The airbag light is still on but I assume I need a mechanic with the computer to turn that off. I haven’t had a chance for a test drive, I’ll try and get out later, see if the car is in limp mode.

Well I gave it a spin and it’s not in limp mode. So that’s something. One of the bulbs in the central brake light is out, would that cause it?

Don't know, maybe it's out of luck but you'll need to connect with a diagnostic system like VCDS or similar to see what's happened and what's been recorded that would definitely help.

I've heard that a faulty brake light might show "check engine". I'd change it because you have to do it anyway and then you'll see if it is causing the problem.
