Tripclock & Service light?

Featured Replies

Just a quick one,

I filled up tonight and reset the trip clock, whilst doing this I started the engine.

This caused the display to display the Service 01L message to come on, service isn't due for ~2k. It stayed on until I got home and stopped the engine, the display went to normal and stayed there again when I restarted the engine.

What did I do? and have I messed up my service shedule or other settings?

Mine came on 2k early too . . . I'm pretty certain the Fabia is fixed service intervals. Maybe the dealer 'tweaked' it last service for it to come in quicker? Call me cynical but . . . .

It's definately no harm servicing earlier than that, though, and with a cars as old as ours, better value to service ourselves, which shouldn't cost more than about £40 for oil, oil filter etc.

maybe you just got it a bit confused as the way you reset the service interval is to press the trip button in and turn the ignition on whilst holding the button , dunno but just a thought , i wouldn't worry about it though

Been out again, and the service message is off, think I just confused it like DevonUtopia said. I do a half service myself, but the next proper service isgoing to be around 46k (4.5yrs) and I was planning on getting the Cam belt changed, which I understand is not really DIY, otherwise I would.
