Instrument pod needle illumiation

Featured Replies

Hi all first it was a rear suspension issue now the dial indicators - needles are no longer illuminating (rev counter only one works), oh boy they say thing come in 3's just wondering what the third one is going to be...

Anyway, any thoughts on what is causing this and I presume a pod out fix?

Thanks for any help

Lots of topics on this if you search for them.

Options are take the pod out and send it off to a specialist company for around £150 they will replace all the LEDS within the pod and send you back and you refit or if your skilled enough repair it yourself.

Hi Phil thanks should of searched first doing that now. Yes I could do it myself searching for a write up.

Thanks

Youtube has guidance if you are electronically competent.

Try banging on top of the instrument cluster and see if LEDs show signs of life.

If they flicker most likely it's just a bad solder join, if they don't either your banging isn't doing it for them or the LEDs have failed.

Only one way to find out.

Thanks for that unfortunately it didn’t respond at all so as the LED's seem to be fairly inexpensive and available going to give it a try. Have the great write up DIY by T. Buchtyar although also going to as you suggest look on YouTube, have a link?

Thanks

Good video

That’s a great video - makes it look very easy although arguably he could ah e filmed the removal and refitting if the LED - that’s surely the most complicated bit!

My Speedo dial hasn’t lit up for 2 years. Can still see my speed even at night so it’s never bothered me overly
