Thank you got it sorted. 

 

Rather then starting another post does anyone know if removing the front drivers seat will cause the air bag and seat belt sign to stay lit once the connections have been out back? And is it a case of just plugging in and turning them off again?

Disconnect the battery. After half an hour you can remove the seat and replace at your leisure without issue. Don't reconnect battery until you have everything installed again.

Technically you can do it with just the ign off, but battery disconnect is safer practice when connecting/disconnecting airbags.

And yes, as long as nothing was damaged causing a fault during the removal or refit process an srs/airbag light can be reset with a diagnostic.

You will need radio codes for battery disconnect.
