Vrs tsi - what is stock boost and stage 1 boost?

Featured Replies

Hello!

i’ve had a stage 1 revo remap for about 18 months and the car has just gone over 100k.

over the last month or so it feels like the car is back on stock power. I changed the battery a few months ago and took it for a service to skoda. I know it can’t be the battery and I doubt its the Skoda dealer that flashed the ecu as it was just an interim service.

my question is does anyone know what stock boost is and what it should be after a stage 1 remap?

I have vcds and was planning to check. I’ll also see if there’s any fault codes.

thank you!

If it's stage 1 with the same turbo, power will be around 300Bhp no matter if it was 220-245 stock. Rather than lots more boost being offered over standard, isn't it the way the boost and power is developed by the remap which makes the difference? If it's not showing a EML on the dash or a issue via VCDS, have you simply got used to the way it drives?  I did after a similar period.

Sometimes with Revo they use the SPS to alter between maps. I dont know if by fitting a new battery it has defaulted to the stock map or some settings have defaulted to zero. It might be worth contacting whomever you purchased the revo map from and see what they say. They may be able to reflash it for you to ensure everything is working as it should.

Thanks both.

yes I thought it was just me but when my wife mentioned she felt less power (without me asking) that’s when I thought there’s definitely something different!

I’ll speak to the chaps at VAS motion and see what they say.
