Got this wiring loom in the boot of my newly acquired 2014 1.6TDI Elegance.

The black wire goes underneath the back left-hand passenger seat. Not had a chance to investigate where it terminates.

I've tried other groups and had suggestions of towbar, audio, ex-police car etc

Can anyone shed any light on what it might be?  

Are they VAG group plugs or have any VAG group logos?  Where do the rest of the wires appear to go and how many wires?  Any signs of it previously having a towbar (cutout under bumper), marks in middle of bumbper etc?

Had a better look today and it looks like it's had an air suspension modification in the past. I think it's been 'pimped' at one point :-( 

Yes --- googling 26498-002 brings back 'Air lift autopilot V2 harness'.  My only slight concern is if it did have a lift kit what other suspension related items may have had excessive wear ... bushes etc.

I was wondering that myself, but the car drives faultless, FSH, and full MOT just before sale.

I'll just need to hope it hasn't been thrashed to death. Fingers crossed........
