Finally managed to get the stubborn little alternator off the engine, but now I cant work out how to get it out of the engine bay.

It's wedged in behind pipes/PAS pump/water pump if i move it down.

The fuel pump stops me moving it up.

Inner wing stops it going left (as I look at the car)

Rad fan and oil filter housing stops it going right (Yes, Ive tried taking out the filter. No joy, but wanted to change it anyway)

Forward is the rad and Back is the engine.

I really dont fancy disconnecting the PAS pump/water pump assembly.

Any ideas / suggestions glady welcomed - The new alternator's coming tomorrow and I want it fitted and working for Fat and Ciddle the next day!

Haynes Manual just says "remove"
