Doors (auto-lock feature), Clock and rear fog lights questions

Featured Replies

Hi,

a week ago my Octavia 1.5 TSI (Hatchback) arrived but..there are few things that im unable to adjust as i want them to be,heh..

First is that doors lock automatically when car starts to speed up but there isnt an option to disable that... i checked every single option on screen and also 160 pages of owner's manual..but i didnt find..how to disable that?

Second thing that bothers me is clock which is available if your multimedia is turned off..but not if you turn it on. You have small clock in the lower middle part of the screen but..you cant have one of those bigger ones turned on?

Third thing that bothers me is related to rear fog lights.. Is there only one available (driver's side) or there are two (in my case i have only one on driver's side or the co-driver one is not working,heh..)?

If anyone around knows some answers.. on my  problems, help would be appreciated.

Thx in advance!

VAG have only had the offside fog light for quite some time.

+1

The last VAG car I owned which had 2 rear fog lights from the factory was a 2000 Audi S3.

Yup my Alfa Romeo has only one fog light.

As for the door lock yeah I think there is no option to turn it off. Maybe it is a safety standard now? Either way I like that option.

As for the clock ...yeah...well... UX flaw :)

The MkII Superb had twin rear foglights active from the factory in the UK up to the facelift in June 2013 (introduction of rear LED tail lights).

Since Skoda's introduction of LED rear tail lights they now only tend to have a singular rear fog light.

The auto locking function is the opposite to what Ford do now. My wife has just got a Fiesta and that won’t auto lock, when I searched why the most common answer was Ford can’t guarantee it will unlock in the event of an accident and therefore they disabled it in their cars to avoid a potential law suit. How much truth there is in that I have no idea, I just know it’s annoying remembering to do it manually. Looking forward to getting my car this week and going back to the way VAG do it.

If Ford can't guarantee the doors won't unlock then presumably they also can't guarantee the brakes will work or the airbags will deploy :o
