Electrical fault

Featured Replies

Cold morning tried to start the car dash lit up like New Years fireworks but car wouldn’t start . Tried a few times noting but flashing lights on dash can’t get mechanic till Monday. Neighbours informed me just now that boot was open last night and he just pushed it closed . Would booth being open affect battery or is it something electrical wrong

I would try charging the battery slowly overnight and seeing whether it will start tomorrow. If the boot was open then the boot light was probably on draining the battery. A flat battery can make the dashboard lights do funny things in these modern cars.

Cheers I’ve a mate dropping round in the morning going to try jump start it hopefully that’s all that’s wrong

Even when you have got it started you may find that a couple of dashboard lights stay on. A quick run round the block should be enough to clear them.
