Fabia MK1 ABS & Traction control light

Featured Replies

My 2001 mk1 fabia has both the ABS and Traction control light illuminated.

Originally the garage replaced the fuse link on the battery  (is it 3rd one in ?) because it had blown but resetting the error has only let the lights reappear. They suggested it may be the ABS ecu but this is dear to replace.

I have purchased a diagnostic lead from Gendan and  loaded the Ross tech software. This is the reading .

Is the ABS ecu module ??? Any help appreciated ...

No, try the 6th one.  Take a well lit, sharply focussed photo of it.

Believe all fuses are good ........is 6th the same as 3rd fro  RHS ?

Will put a multimeter on tomorrow to confirm all good ... BUT garage stated all were good and replaced the blown one.......George

This might help- it's a RHD fusebox layout with the  circuit. I've done it in Word and shown all fuses,so if you want to copy, you can remove those that do not exist in your fusebox. fusebox layout.doc

6th from left (looking from in front of car into engine bay). 1st from right of the strip fuses.

Don't trust garage; check, measure, photograph. Never seen that fault code not be the strip fuse. In this circumstance they don't 'blow', they crack, sometimes almost invisibly, so if they did replace a blown/melted one, it probably wasn't the ABS one.

That'll be why you're getting that warning!

40A stripfuse needed there in position 6. No idea what your garage were up to*.

Halfords do a selection pack of appropriate ones, I believe.

*do you know/trust them? Could be deliberate?
