SD Card Gapless Playback

Featured Replies

Thought I’d create a thread here for an issue I’m having in my Columbus MIB2.5 equipped Superb 3 as I haven’t had much response in the superb 3 section so if anyone can help or at least let me know if their own systems play music from sd cards without the annoying gap I’d love to hear from them!

the original thread is here: SD Card Gapless Playback Issues

there are video links showing the issue I’m having plus the software version I’m running.

I’m waiting on the dealers to advise if Skoda U.K. have an answer to see if there’s maybe a software update to fix it so if anyone could advise what versions their MIB2.5 is running I’d like to know how it differs from mine.

Hi, I get the same issue with my SD card. All my CDs ripped to FLAC and mp3. FLAC for use on the hifi at home, mp3s on the SD card for use in the car. It's a function of the playback software in the unit, not all players support gapless playback, I find it really annoying when listening to a live album or one where tracks blend into one another. I haven't checked software version but it's a 19 plate Superb SEL Executive.

Yes I’d agree it’s got to be software/firmware limitations rather than the hardware cannot do it as all it needs to do is buffer the first few seconds of the next track presumably.

the dealer hasn’t got any solution as yet so I’ve just taken to using the sd card for non mixed stuff and got used to plugging my iPhone in and using CarPlay with that when I want to listen to seamless mixed stuff
