Buying Advice

Featured Replies

Back for more recieved wisdom form the Briskoda expertise cloud.

I've been asked to look at a 2016 Citigo (https://www.cornemotors.co.uk/used-skoda-citigo-witney-oxfordshire-2915678 ) that since Dad is no longer allowed to drive he is buying for Mum so she can deliver him for chemo etc.

I can't find a Citigo buyer's guide on here, so please can someone point me in the right direction, or let me know if there's anything specific (recalls, service fixes etc) I should look out for other than the usual used car stuff?

Cheers.

Not in Common Concerns, unfortunately.

Considering the mileage I think its about £1000 overpriced.

I'd agree totally. My daughter paid £4,500 from main Skoda dealer for hers with 50k on and just under 4 years old. It is a 3 door so expect to pay a little more foe a 5 door but that's still well overpriced.

General points to note are the transmission and rear suspension are quite noisy and she's also had to have the rear brakes sorted as the handbrake stuck on. A friend fixed it and said that it's previously had the same treatment.

Good luck with finding one :)

I don't get current Citigo prices. I paid £5.5k for a 2015 ex-demo SE with 3,000 miles on the clock in 2015.

It seems like it might be worth more now than it was then!

They certainly hold their price well, as do most small cars in the current climate.

I paid £7500 for a pre-reg SEAT Mii design (5 door with Beats audio) February 2019 and AT reckons it's still worth £7k at 14k miles!!!

As previously mentioned rear brakes can stick, but other than that I'm not aware of any intrinsic faults with the Citigo, Mii, Up!

We bought my wife’s pre reg car from a dealer at 5 months old and 25 miles on the clock for £8500. Colour edition with dab radio and spare wheel. Decided this year 15 months on to just manage with one car so p/x it and my Yeti towards new Karoq. Had an excellent valuation on both cars and the same dealer we bought the 68 req Citigo from managed to sell it for £9200!!

Value seems to have gone up as no longer made now and no similar replacement if you want a very small car
