The Austrailian dash speedo on a 2017 car?

Featured Replies

Hi

I've just added another Yeti to my collection (of Two) and tried to get the large MPH display on the maxidot as I did with my first 2013 Yeti.

And it does'nt seem to work.

looking at the forums and there's some talk of this not working on later cars.

Anyone got a definative answer on this? I'm a bit teed off as I've just shelled out for Carista to do it!!!

Paul

I've enabled it on my 2017 1.2 SE Drive using OBDeleven.

17 Dashboard > Long coding >  change country version to Australia.

Then in MFD display tick the digital speed display option, change the consumption/distance option back to UK mpg and untick the Alternative speed display option.

Also managed to activate the fuel refill quantity and cruise control mph display (bottom left of the mfd screen).

Thanks for the reply, It did the change as the odo changed to km, and I made sure the alt display was un ticked.

I've changed it back to UK now. I'll give it 24 hour's and have another go.

maybe I'll have to borrow VCDS like I did for the last one?

Is there anyway to enable this but for kms to be displayed?

I have a RHD car & drive in France, the speedo does not have km/h markings but the speed does show amongst the other data on the maxidot display, the trouble is that its not really prominent enough and with my compromised vision I find  it hard to read the small digits especially at night.

Of course there is no way that I would be able to read any secondary km/h markings were the speedo to have them :D

Haven't any experience of Carista personally but know the above method definitely works with VCDS and OBDeleven.

Can't say for definite but I would think it would be possible.

There's various country options in the dashboard controller so one of them may option the large km/h display.

Could be a quirk of carista's coding as you don't know exactly how its making the changes.

Large KPH is possibly but you'll need to edit the EEPROM rather than just tweak the coding with VCDS :)

Presumably beyond my competence and equipment?

Unless you can read/write the cluster EEPROM, yes, it's beyond your equipment :)

Don't you need a maxidot display? Otherwise you're wasting your time, surely?

I don't understand that, who is it aimed at?

I don't think the base model has a maxidot display! but could be wrong of course

Me neither, 3 people have posted a desire to change the display & they all have spoken of their Maxidot displays, 2 of them adding photographs of it.

Think it was aimed at you but you had already said you have a Maxidot.
I suspect they saw the "S" in your signature and assumed that was the model as they have no Maxidot.

Understood, I will change the signature to Yeti Outdoor and add some punctuation

Sorry, no internet in sodden darkest Worcs all day ... agreed, S models have 5L0 920 900 E instruments which don't support many mods

Quick update on this.

Re set to Australia today with Carista, and it was all my fault the Digi speed wasn't showing, I didn't tick the box in the MFD settings :wondering:

Also set the refill gals but couldn't find the cruise speed.

Carista doesn't work like that it's pretty dumbed down you just get a list of things you can change "Set dash to United Kingdom" for example and apply.

How does the Galls to refill work It's not showing any numbers at the moment?
