Which torque wrench do I need?

Featured Replies

Hi guys! It’s been many moons since I posted; my Citigo is still going strong after 7 years! The n/s door is not closing flush however, so I think I need to adjust the stricker:

Unfortunately I don’t have a torque wrench. What type should I be looking for to get the job done?

Thanks!

Is the door too far out, or has it dropped?

If anyone wants a torque wrench, and it is a must for any toolbox used for cars, these are pretty good for the money. Not professional grade,  which are £££, but they have a calibration certificate and are good value.

Probably overkill to fix a door, whether dropped or if the b-pillar latch has shifted. You will likely need Torx bits though, for any driver you have. I don't recall the sizes that might apply.

It’s too far out, I took it into a body shop yesterday and they suggested I did it myself with a torque.

I don't see any obvious need for a torque wrench for this. What you will need is a bit of the correct style and size for the screw heads. If the ones on your car are the same as what was pictured on the thread you linked, they are XZN/triple-square type, not Torx as someone on there posted.

yep, just checked, my mistake, they indeed are XZN/triple-square, and a set of bits can probably be found on Amazon.
