our Kodiaq is less than 2 months old and we have lost the small key that unclips from the smart key

 

is the dealer the only people who can sort me out for a new key or can i go to other places? any idea of cost?

Any locksmith that can cut car keys will be able to cut you a new blade, the issue you might have is the small plastic end cap that secures it inside the keyfob. I can't imagine these are available separately, so you may need to also source a new blank dummy keyfob too.

You can definitely get the key blade with plastic attached from AliExpress
