Hey guys,

Yesterday i turned my ignition on and i heard a loud pop noise from the speakers. The radio turned off and then back on. After that the speakers started doing popping noises all in sync. There is no other sound coming out from the speakers.

I would really appreciate your help. And i would love to at least know where the problem might lie.

It is an octavia mk.2 and the year is 2006.

Your radio has blown up by the sound of it.

It's not the first time I've heard of this issue and experienced the same with my previous Octavia with the Stream MP3 stereo.

 

I read somewhere a service bulletin for it. A software update was made available for the stereo but only available through a dealer.

 

It's not worth the cost though. Either buy a used known working stereo or invest in an upgrade.
