Skoda Connect not working

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had problems with Skoda Connect?

The loading spinner in my new Estate runs forever when trying to become the primary user, loading a profile, or doing a factory reset, so basically none of the connected functionality works.

Reported this to customer services on delivery day, two weeks ago... they are still (!) chasing the technical team for a response.

The local service centre has had it for the last two days. They have just called to say Skoda are saying it's "an Infrastructure problem" and that I "can have the car back" (translation: we don't know what's going on and we can't fix it). I asked if it was an infrastructure problem, why it was still working for others? Didn't get a clear answer on that. All I know is that a TPI was released yesterday.

Feels like I'm being fobbed off - any advice on pushing for a resolution?

I had similar issues when I first tried to create a user profile and make it primary. The solution for me was to connect the car via WiFi to my home internet and it downloaded a patch and then everything worked properly.

I can't unlock or lock the doors/windows (haven't done any I'd check thing with the dealer) but I don't know if that's even a feature I would want. The flash and honk thing works though.

Meant to add, had to be connected to home WiFi, couldn't make a hotspot on my phone and use that as the car didn't like it for some reason.

I also have the same problem. I thought it was something to do with which key I was using, but that's not the case. A factory reset with both keys in the car doesn't work to remove the primary user - and I can't switch to the primary user. Once it's got into the loop, you either have to turn off the infotainment to clear the spinner or turn the car off. I also noticed that the some of the physical buttons (e.g. mode) don't work once the software is in this state until the car has been reset (e.g. 30 mins idle)

I have the physical knobs on mine. I hold it pressed and it restarts and it worked.

I've given up with Skoda Connect. It just dowsn't activate.

The problem is, the way the car is designed, Skoda Connect is not something you can just "give up" on. It's been woven into the software. So much so that some units (like mine) refuse even to factory reset! Not even the help call button will work without it...

I mentioned this in another post, make sure when entering password on head unit if you did not set first letter to capital then turn off on car as the first letter is capital when entering the password, i had this issue until i realised the car auto makes the first letter a capital, if this makes sense lol

agreed, deffo needed on the car, handy for saving all ur settings

I'm a Karoq newbie to Briskoda but I think MY21 Karoq's have pretty much the same infotainment and Skoda Connect setup as the New Octavia. I joined Briskoda partly to find help with the infotainment and there are some useful threads now on the Karoq pages.

I agree that you cannot really give up on Skoda Connect especially if you have navigation as it provides map updates and live traffic so pretty useful even essential. I did have several frustrating days trying to set up mine especially letting me become the primary user and an email to customer services has never been answered. However I think I have got the basics working now OK and my dealer was helpful activating the app. My password starts with a lower case letter but I haven't had any problems with that. I do get prompted for my s-pin sometimes and get messages about privacy setting but I think I understand how to minimise those now.

Well  I’ve got it working now. I have also had contact with Skoda Customer Services. Reading between the lines it would seem that Skoda have difficulties with the technology at their end.

Mine's not worked since late Wednesday. If I go to the section it just comes back saying activating and never does or give me any other options. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes eSIM data is turned on

I reached out to Skoda folks.

They are aware of the issues and are working on resolving them. Soon there will be an update and all of the issues with Skoda Connect will be resolved.

That is what I have been promised from Skoda Europe HQ.

Hi,

Just bought Octavia iV 2020, literally few days back. And boom! Issue from the very first day!

Cannot activate/set a Primary User.

Connectivity seems to be present (some items I can see are fetched from internet). Also, able to event create a new user using just Skoda Infortament system.

Does anyone know a fix for it, please?
