Featured Replies

So today we carried out some much needed maintenance on my trusty felly.

List included

OIL and filter CASTROL GTX/MAHLE

Air filter KNECHT

Ball joints TRW

Tie rod ends TRW

Steering rack boots MOOG

Cv BOOTS OPTIMAL

Wheel bearings SKF

Tightening rear drums Split pins😂

Rear top mounts OPTIMAL

Lower torque mount MAPCO

Transmission bed mount MAPCO

Expansion cap ORIGINAL BIRTH

Removed (most of) the play of the shifting linkage. Larger spring pin and hose clamp

Bleeded brakes. FERODO

Adjusted valves. XD

Exhaust mounts SWAG/VAICO

Replaced spark plugs BOSCH 0.9mm for lpg

Rocker gasket and screw gaskets replaced. PAYEN / VIKA(I know there are not the best but the only ones I could source).

The real b*tch were the lower ball joints.

It's NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to get the rivets out without removing the control arms and using a vice plus I used both self locking nuts and loctite.

Well done! That is what I call good maintenance. Your car is happier now.

How much did you pay for the lot?

Nice job congratulations

How much did you pay for the lot?

230 for parts.
0 for labour as I did it on a friend's lift with a lot of help.
It took as 12 hours straight.

Have you checked the wheels alignment after the job?

PS

Good photos. Very clear and very useful for fellow members. The more, the better.

Did the job on saturday.
Tommorow I will go to the alligment shop.
Tip: Mark the position of the tie rod ends with correcting fluid so you will be able to drive the car afterwards,
Still the car pulls sligtly to the left but its not dangerous to the point where you can't drive it.

Some more photos.
