Under Stereo Tray

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I was in my dealer the other day and they had an Elegance 1.9TDI Estate, It was very nice. I noticed it had a proper "Drawer" underneath the stereo rather than an open cubby hole. It looked absolutley perfect for the mobile phone and keys and stuff. I asked the dealer if it could be retrofitted and they said absolutley not. I dont disbeleive them, but I looked to me like it simply occupied the standard slot beneath the radio,

Any thoughts?

No printable thoughts anyway ...

I think you'll find part numbers for the drawer on these pages somewhere. It's an easy retro fit.

Do you know where the part numbers are more spceifically?

It's a 5 minute job to fit and can be retro-fitted to any Fabia  I'm sure there was a sticky somewhere with useful part numbers, or check out Stu's site: http://www.fabia-vrs.com/parts.htm :D

Edit: Found :D

Is very easy to DIY fit. All you need to do is get some radio-release keys, pop the radio out and switch the cubby hole with the storage drawer. Then slide the radio back in :D

Whats the best substitute for the keys? If I do end up in Halfrauds, are they Grundig keys?

try a breaker link partsearch i got my friend a drawer for 12 quid delivered.

Just buy the keys - a VW/Skoda dealer should sell them to you for a couple of ££

Bugs me when people go on about sticking bl00dy hacksaw blades in the front of their radio's.

Finally got round to fitting the draw from Chrissi's car into mine today.

I can give you the part number for the keys if you struggle.

Hi, I was given a set when I asked a VW tech how to get the radio out on my company VW T4. He gave them to me....says they have loads of em kicking about.

Hopefully they should be the same.
