A little help with my clockspring please!

Featured Replies

Hi all, hope everyone is ok. My clock spring has started clicking on tight turns and the horn is not working and the airbag light is on all the time.

Contacted my local Skoda for a replacement, £248 just for the part. he said that he was not aloud to give me the part number so i told him the number on my clockspring and it did not match what he was looking at on his computer, he said that the part number he has is the correct and current one even though he would not tell me what it was.

I am wandering if anybody can help, my clockspring part number is 5k0.953.569.c

Thank you for your help.

If you are happy to fit the original part and not a later revision (denoted by suffix C) just get the best deal as it'll no doubt outlive the rest of the car.

Thank you all very much for your help! just one more question. If i got the part with the same number as the one already in my car, would i still need to have it coded to my car? Again thank you!

If you look at this from Ross-Tech, you will need to get a code read from the old one by doing a VCDS scan, before you remove it.

Once the new one is fitted, write the code from the old unit into the replacement with VCDS.

You may also need to do some basic settings on some modules , again using VCDS.
