Music on SD card muddle

Featured Replies

When transferring music onto SD card to use in the car everything looks fine when viewing and listening to the SD card on the PC.  I take the SD card out to the car and a few albums get split - whereby  the first track gets separated from the rest of the album as a track on its own, this also looses the artist and track name in the process. Go back to the PC with the SD card and it is fine again. Any way of sorting this? Hopefully not too complicated.

Thanks

Is the MP3 track data populated?

By that I mean this information, not just the filename.

You can see on your PC if you right-click on an MP3 and select properties - Details

This may be a factor.

Thanks EnterName looks like this is the problem.

Just looked at the problem tracks.

Under the general tab they look OK - Track correctly identified by name and Location correctly identifies artist and album.

Under the details tab Album and Artist is Unknown, track is only identified as track 1.

I have now manually entered the info into the Details Tab for one of the tracks and checked it in the car that seems to have fixed it.

Thanks again.

update - it has worked

I’d suggest something like mp3tag and load the whole sd root folder in it.

Takes a bit of understanding but once you do it’s very powerful and easy to do stuff like name or number multiple files at once and also makes sorting the artwork out a doddle
