Intake Manifold Interchangeability CCZA

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Looks like a new inlet manifold is required on my Octy 2 VRS (CCZA Engine code), have the P2015 error code suggesting an issue with the intake runners.

Engine has done over 100K now so not done too bad I suppose. (Rest of car on 193K, new engine fitted due to tensioner failure)

From a bit of research it seems the latest part from the VW group is PN 06J133201BH, but I can't seem to locate any Skoda documentation that confirms this will definitely fit my car, the Skoda parts catalogue I found online doesn't recognise this part. Im guessing as its not an official Skoda parts catalogue that it just hasn't been updated with the latest offering from VW.

Just wondered whether anyone had fitted PN 06J133201BH to there CCZA engine?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

Im in the same situation, ive got 150k but the engine was changed at 48k due to tensioner failure.

when i was researching I've got the part number 06J133201BD - use autodoc, its very good for parts comparison with the part numbers.

It could be that the seal/gasket for the intake valve has started to perish rather than the flaps.  I'm going to book mines in for inlet valves and injector clean as it would definitely benefit it.

I'd say it is virtually certain to be the latest version.

But the freebie Parts listings pointing to etka I use also only goes as far as BD. But it is not unusual for the free parts listings to be a revision or two out of date....

I did spot that site... was a bit concerned about the note about possibly needing a new fuel rail... they aren’t cheap!

Thanks

Dan

Interesting. Didn't see that and it doesn't seem to say it for earlier versions. I wonder what they're on about. Shape of bh manifold? It would be enough to scare me into trying to find a bd.

Good evening.

If your interested here's a link to the manifold I fitted to my tsi a few months ago. It worked out cheaper to import from the USA than buy over here. And that was including import charges.

That's works out to be about £240+ shipped! You could got one from Autodoc for £133 plus shipping depending on brand!

Yes, but the aftermarket replacements are unproven on these forums with most people and garages recommending genuine updated revision. It's quite a bit of work replacing it.  Some who have tried chinese pattern parts have had to replace again straight away.  Then again, the original was crap design and lasted over 100k (in this OP case) miles so using a decent aftermarket brand may be worth a shot but I have not read of anyone using them on these forums...

Excellent, mines an 09 plate but with a 2012 engine, so sounds like mine won’t fall foul of needing the upgrade fuel rail.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did the kit come to in good old fashioned pounds Sterling with the import duties etc ?

Agreed, always like to try and use the genuine parts or find the actualy OEM of the genuine part and order that.

I believe it came in at around £290. It definitely wasn't more than £300

The parts on Autodoc are mainly from German suppliers which provide 2 years warranty on parts.  I would go with brand ive used before like Febi Bilstein, Mahle, Metzger Autotelle etc.

This Inlet Manifold thing is so damn annoying - from what I remember reading, this is a "known issue" and in the US the warranty on this part was extended to 100k/10yrs or something like that.

But get VW/Skoda UK to admit the same thing and they have none of it.

I had the exact same thing happen to my 2011 vRS and I eventually had to have a new Inlet Manifold at 4yrs. I managed to wangle some "goodwill" from Skoda as it was my third Skoda, I'd always taken it back to them for servicing etc.

However it still wasn't exactly pocket money that I paid.

When the car was 7yrs old, I started getting the warning light popping up again and a scan revealed the exact same fault again. As it happened I was starting to look for a replacement car - so I'm (partially) ashamed to say I used a code reader to clear the error and the warning lights about half an hour before I traded it in - thankfully nothing showed up when they were giving it the once over.

But for a part with no service interval, that is supposed to last the lifetime of the car to fail at 4yrs and then the replacement to fail around 3yrs after that - makes me mad.

Ive watched a video on youtube of how to change it, not techical difficult just time consuming.  Im not sure if mines was changed when the engine was replaced.

I did have the fault code P2015 last week however its gone now since Ive had the water pump changed. Most likely the its the gasket/seal which perishes or the running flaps get carbon build up.

Im planning an inlet valve clean therefore may get it done then as a perventative measure asit will save on labour.
