I wonder if any of you knowledgeable people could help?

My Fabia 1.6TDI suddenly started making a loud tapping sound when revved & lost power.  The noise seems to be coming from the cylinder head.  It starts  & runs normally at idle & sounds worse at revs and when warmed up. No warning lights are on and it has plenty of clean oil. It is probably a coincidence but I had just put about half a tank of diesel in.  Thanks in advance.

Check the fuel receipt and be sure it was diesel... I don't believe in coincidences!

Thanks mrgf. The receipt definitely says diesel.  I will go back to the garage & see if they've had any other complaints.

No idea whats really the problem.

but on the clean oil,  for me its hard to tell once the car driven a few miles after an oil change, as it would been black colour already.
