Hi guys after some advice please. Looking to buy a double din head for my MkII fabia 2011 and can't decide which one to buy. confused by all the jargon!! Want radio, sat nav, bluetooth, possibly DAB, and phone or android connectivity. Don't have any steering wheel controls so probs need some intuitive on/off button and volume to grab whilst driving!! Kenwood has a nice new stereo with a giant screen.

I have a headunit from Joying and i happy with it, they are android based so you can use almost any Navigation app and all that.

That Kenwood unit looks amazing.only thing is you would need a hell of a lot of concentration to keep your eyes on the road 😄

It would take all of my willpower to stop me from ripping that from the dashboard and throwing it out of the window.

 

But I realise that I am a dinosaur, if having a plastic tea tray sticking out from your dashboard is your thing then fill your boots.

 

It wont be long before you can opt for the driverless car so you can have a 6' wide LED windscreen to look at and play with instead of looking through.

Tho these chinese android units do not have competative amplifiers inbuilt but they serve normal use. And better yet, they have digital out if you want to go audiophile.

It doesn't get much more pointless than audiophile in a car unless your car is stationary and silent.

Suppose it's down to personal taste.im a bit of a dinosaur myself but I like a bit of technology now and then.the thought of driverless cars frightens the s*** out of me 😀

It's not gonna happen, they might get autopilot working for long motorway journeys but motorways are already the safest part of the road network so it'll only help where tiredness or poor visibility might be a factor.

I have fitted something similar to both my current and previous car, 1/3 of that price though, all the features but not Android Auto or Carplay or whatever these "must haves" are for the generation that absolutely have to have their vehicle as an extension of their smartphone.

 

It fits discreetly into the dashboard in place of the OE radio and does not look like someone has stuck a tea tray on vertically with bluetack.
