Wrinklys

Featured Replies

I am going to tackle my dealer about my wrinkly seats Tuesday, has anybody had theirs replaced? I know somebody on here had his or her back seat recovered but has Skoda admitted the problem exists

Took mine into the dealer on Friday...guys said they had done a few over the past month and Skoda readily accepted it as their problem to be resolved under warranty.

They are getting in touch with some professional re-trimmer who will do them for me, best thing is he's mobile so he can come over to my work rather than me having to goto the stealers...:D

Mine was in the main dealer on Friday for this problem. The rear N/S seatback cover was replaced. When I collected the car the seat was still wrinkled (worse), there were oily fingerprints all over it, the plastic trims for the headrest and release pull were broken, the seat was not located in its centre mounting point and was completely loose (the seat would move six inches either way). To top it all there were four one-inch long scratches down to bare metal in the door shut!

They said the seatcover arrived in a shrink pack and was wrinkled to start. They've done two other vRS's they say.

My advice is to stand over who ever does the work and not leave them alone for a minute.

Crikey...thats incredible. What are you going to do about it?

Makes me think im lucky my dealer is going down the professional trimmer route, rather than the replace the seats (with ones that could also be wrinkly) option...

How about a group buy for Sport Seats !! TONS BETTER!!

I've rejected the car under the Sale Of Goods Act for this problem and the vRS engine hesitation/stutter, which I reckon will never be fixed. The damage to the paintwork really precipitated the crisis on Friday. I'll post the outcome of the negotiations.
