Hi all. 

I want to change the standard stream mp3 unit in my mk2 vrs due to its lack of Bluetooth and dab functions. Does anyone know what specific adaptor kit I need? I've seen some online but they include the multifunction steering wheel adaptor aswel which I don't need. Also if I change the unit will it retain the parking sensor beeps? Not fussed about the pacman style display just want the beeps for the Mrs. The kit ive seen is the ctksk02, are there any other cheaper ones?

Most of the kits that come with the stereos should work. They usually come with a harness and then a can-bus box which is usually described as for the steering controls.

 

But that isn't it's only job. It basically converts the can-bus signals (including the steering controls) and outputs a signal for the stereo.

 

So it will pick of the turn on and off signal, reverse gear signal etc and give a switched live etc for the stereo.

I bought a kenwood unit which is similar looking to the units that are in the golf and everything works fine still have the beeps

Thanks for the reply guys, I've purchased the fitting kit from bass junkies, got a cheap pioneer bt unit to use for now, just want to connect my phone!!! Lol
