Moving spare wheel and kit from one Octavia to another

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of changing my Octy 3 estate 2016 2.0 TDI SE L ESTATE DIESEL for 2017 or 2018 hatchback petrol - non --VRS

Can I transfer the spare wheel and foam kit etc. which is in the estate INTO ANY OCTAVIAS of 2017/8 (as v few cars I've seen for sale have the spare)?

The tyres on my car are 205/55/16

Thanks Steve

Short answer - yes - absolutely no problems.

Generally as long as the replacement car has the same wheel profile, you should be good to go.

A lot of the FL Octy's have 17", but a lot of the smaller engined (1.0tsi, 1,4tsi) have the smaller wheel profile (ie 16").

Even if your new car has 17" wheels the 16" wheel will be fine for a spare as the rolling circumference is the same, but you will be limited to 50mph when on as it is not the same size as the other 3.
