I have the Kopacek grill covers for both my petrol fabia and octavia. You do get a faster warm up but my answer to iced windows is a 2kw fan heater for 15/20 minutes switched on with a smart plug via Alexa. At one time, on an old passat estate, I fitted a caravan plug to the outside of the car so I didn't have a lead going through the door seal. I fitted the sound deadening to my octavia and it does quieten it a little.

Good Citigo likely to be up for sale at LIsters Coventry.
peter3197 replied to peter3197's topic in Škoda Citigo
That's the one. Fitted with Cross Climates, split boot, boot cover strings and various other bits that you can see on the photos. It went in with a set of carpet mats as well, along with a Heko grill cover. It does have the clutch click but I didn't notice it after a while. -

I traded my 2014 Citigo SE Greentech, with 21k on the the clock, FSH, with various extras that I added. I don't think it's going out in the trade so if anyone is looking for a good 'un it might be worth a call to them.

Picking this one up on Wednesday all being well. 2015 1.2tsi se 110bhp with 35k on the clock. Virtually all bells and whistles fitted. Replacement for my Citigo which has served perfectly for 5 years.

Is it possible to upgrade the wheel (bigger size Rim)
peter3197 replied to automass's topic in Tyres & Wheels
18" wheels and tyres are less comfortable as the sidewalls on the tyres are smaller, therefore less compliant. I went the other way, took 17" off and fitted 16", much more comfortable and less prone to damaging wheels in potholes. This all assuming you fit the correct tyres to keep your speedo correct. -
I have a 16 plate 1.4 Tsi with the manual 6 speed box and can quite understand why people go for the DSG, It gets hard work changing gear at times and really the only reason I am persevering is that otherwise it's a cracking motor with under 30k on the clock.

You can always drill the head of the screw to the extent that you can get the disk off. Normally a pair of self grips will turn the screw as the heat destroys the bond. Fit new screw with new disk.

turn signal bulb error
peter3197 replied to encephalopathy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
It may not be the bulb- -
Get your independent to check it for water content and change if required.

2 miles after passing the MOT the rear left indicator threw a wobbly. Took everything to bits expecting a blown bulb. No, the contact for the side of the bulb had broken at the top, but not fallen out. Kitchen foil bodge time, jammed the foil between the contact and the bulb and everything now works without throwing up any faults. A touch of grease on the pins helps the light unit go back in, otherwise they are a swine to get in.

Interesting advice on cambelt change
peter3197 replied to Doctor_Strange's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
There is an enormous amount of discussion on here regarding cambelt changes on the 1.4Tsi. Nearly everywhere except this country does cambelt changes much later than 5 years as recommended by VW unless you do 140000km in 5 years. -
Doesn't sound like an accident to me, done to deceive prospective buyer if done by dealer. If done by the the previous owner, to deceive the dealer.
-
Did you buy her from a dealer? If so, did they do a service that hasn't been recorded on the system but did reset the service interval?
-
I'm told it's quite nice, but the house prices go up 50% as you cross the county boundary to Leicestershire.

Hope you don't live in Market Harborough as the radio reception on a Citigo there is pants.
